Life After 30 …
Children are often told ,“You can be anything you want to be and achieve anything that you want.” And, from within the cocoon of youthful ignorance, it sure damn well feels like they might be right, and it feels good too.
In the following posts, I hope to chronicle what is possible after the hermetic seal of hopeful optimism has been breached.
From the title of this post, you can see that I am writing from the point of view of someone who is still quite young. That is intentional. Too many times, I have felt like my options and my promise were over, only to realize that my despair threatened to undermine the promise of today, only to realize that I was just getting started.
If you have lived at all, I’d wager you’ve experienced this to one degree or another. Some of us more so, some less.
The aim here is to gather data on my story and on a point of view publicly, to find my 100%, and, just maybe, help reignite the hope of present and future promise in your life as well as my own.
Despite what your life has ‘told’ you so far, I would like to wager that the lie we are told in our youth is not too far off, that we possess unimagined potential if we are only given a chance, if we only take the chance ourselves.
Finally, as we embark on this journey together, I would invite you to share your story in the comments, bit by bit.
What do you feel is holding you back? What burden is currently more than you can bear? No truth is too sacred for the light.
